Dejected after failing in Std XII examinations, 17-year-old Mohan (name changed) assaulted his friend who cleared his boards
The incident took place at Sriram Housing Society in Katraj on Wednesday evening. Cops from Bharati Vidyapeeth police station detained the teen yesterday.

The injured was identified as Satyam Itarkar (17), a resident of the same society. Mohan hit Satyam on his head with a blunt object.
The victim was rushed to the hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, when Satyam was playing football in the society ground. Mohan hit him while he was playing and fled from the spot.
“According to Satyam’s relatives, Mohan and the victim were not on speaking terms since a month and a half,” said Police Sub-Inspector G M Landage.
“After the assault, Mohan ran away, but we managed to find and detain him on Thursday morning,” said Landage. He has been charged under section 307 (attempt to kill) of IPC.u00a0
