A 19-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by a Shiv Sena (Hindustan) leader and a barber in Delhi. According to a report by Hindustan Times, the accused were identified as Akshay Rathore and barber Joginder Singh Bobbi of Laroia Mohalla and Palika Bazar, respectively.
Both accused have been charged under section 376-D (gangrape) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. Party's district president Narinder Rathore claims that Akshay Rathore is a victim of conspiracy.
She claimed to have approached by Rathore on Kulam Road, who offered her to stay at a room near his restaurant after the girl was unable to find the rented accomodation that she and her mother had relocated to, since it was late at night.
The survivor further stated that she was raped by Rathore and Joginder at different times, when she went to sleep in her room.
According to police sources, Rathore and Joginder were produced in court and sent to judicial custody.
