The 25-year-old victim was returning home after work when she was stabbed by two men
New Delhi: Two men stabbed a 25-year-old woman to death while she was returning home yesterday after work in Noida, the police said on Saturday.
The accused have been identified but are absconding.
“Simranjeet Kaur was returning home when two men attacked her with a meat cleaver near Karol Bagh Metro Station on Friday night,” a police officer said.
After stabbing her, the attackers fled from the scene leaving behind the weapon, the officer added.
Kaur was taken to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead. She had two deep wounds on chest and shoulder.
Police said the men have been identified on the basis of a CCTV footage installed near the Metro station. The woman got married a year ago.
“The motive behind the murder is not yet clear but we are investigating the case from all possible angles,” Joint Commissioner of police Sandeep Goel said.
