Omprakash alias Babloo Srivastava, a former aide of Dawood Ibrahim, was in Bareli Central Jail in UP after being extradited from Singapore in 1995 and was serving time for a slew of extortion, abduction and murder cases.

Ladkat, the son a petrol pump owner, was abducted in Wanwadi and hacked to death on May 22, 1998.

“Sagar was returning home from their petrol pump on the night of May 22, 1998 when members of the Fazal-ur-Rehman gang stopped his car at Queens Garden, took him to Kondhwa, hacked him to death and abandoned the body abandoned in the car,” said PI Sunil Patil of the Crime branch (Unit II).

Srivastava’s name cropped up when one other suspect was being interrogated. “We had made a requisite to the UP police and now we have got custody,” said Patil.u00a0
