The Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta Police today caught a BJP corporator while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a plumber. Inspector Santosh Jamra said that Kalpana Patel, the corporator, was caught red-handed at her office at home when accepting the bribe from the plumber to settle a complaint against him. The plumber is registered with the Sagar Municipal Corporation.
The corporator had lodged a complaint against him that he issued a no-objection-certificate for installing a water tap connection for money. The Corporation had issued a show-cause notice to the plumber. When Patel demanded Rs 10,000 to 'settle' the matter, he approached the Lokayukta police who laid a trap and caught her.
