22-yr-old man held for vehicle theft

The sleuths of Crime Branch (Unit II) of the city police arrested a 22-year-old youth for allegedly stealing parked motorcycles. The arrest was made on Monday from Shivajinagar.

The accused has been identified as Avinash Raval, a resident of Pimpri. Police have seized two motorcycles from him worth Rs 85,000.

Police Havaldar, Sajay Dalvi of the crime branch received a tip-off that Raval was supposed to come near a hotel in Shivajinagar on a stolen bike and as per the tip-off, a trap was laid to carry out the arrest.


“During interrogation, Avinash confessed that he had stolen two bikes from two separate places in the city with the use of master keys,” said Dalvi.

The team, that managed to arrest the accused, comprised of Police Inspector Sunil Patil, PSI M G Pawar, Santosh Pagar, P N Ranpise, and P C Pawar.
