19-year-old youth kills his uncle in Malvani, cops launch manhunt to nab him

A 19-year-old youth allegedly killed his uncle (husband of his mother's sister) over a quarrel between the two. The youth allegedly attacked his uncle with knife at his house in Malvani Rathodi area on December 26, and escaped after the incident.


The deceased -- identified as Raju Kanojia -- was rushed to hospital by the accused's mother and other relatives but was declared dead before the admission in the Dr. Babasaheb Shatabdi Hospital at Kandivli in the wee hours  of Monday.


During the investigations, it was revealed that the accused and deceased -- the duo were residing at the same locality and that they often used to visit each other's house.

According to police, as Kanojia visited the accused youth's house along with his brother in law, the accused and deceased had an argument over some issue ,during which the accused youth abused him. The deceased slapped the accused in anger, and the accused attacked Kanojia with knife, said an officer.

"The accused is at large since we have registered a case of murder and searching for the accused," said DCP Ajay Kumar Bansal.
