Manjultoons

You will know him as Manjultoons, and recognise his work by the sharp wit and blunt humour that he pours into characters that drive the message home at a single glance. A staple for the mid-day reader, this political cartoonist has now released the third edition of his desk cartoon calendar for 2023. The edition comprises cartoons from Manjul’s work in 2022 for various newspapers and his Patreon account, which has never been posted on social media, and being behind paywalls, is a collector’s item. Each month features three to four cartoons, with the cartoon on the cover capturing the tongue-in-cheek humour right from the start. You know it’s going to be a must-have on your desk.

Initially, the idea was to come out with a short collection as a giveaway for friends since not everyone had access to the cartoonist’s work. A calendar would suit this. But having found its way to social media after being posted by recipients, fans inquired, and Manjul obliged. “We work for the readers, so we printed more calendars,” he tells us, and adds that this collection is for those who enjoy the cartoons and would like to have it on their desks.
