Routinely greeted by the heady aroma of the masala and EI aunty chatter, I’ve felt a strong affinity for the community. And Veera Almeida’s Instagram page, dedicated to EI food, is my go-to to assimilate with the neighbours. I owe it to Veera Bai’s quirky representation  of dishes for picking up the local lingo, culinary traditions and some EI chatter.
