For a year, I’ve been living in Vakola Village, home to East Indians (EI) who’ve captured this migrant’s imagination, and belly, with their distinctive bottle masala. Routinely greeted by the heady aroma of the masala and EI aunty chatter, I’ve felt a strong affinity for the community.
