“We handpicked the short films solely based on the quality and storyline. The curated list ranges from international art films to short films made by college film societies in the city,” shares Sampat Singh Rathore, founder, Veda Factory. The roster includes some unique city-inspired short films such as A Star is Born, a docu-film that follows the journey of a Mumbai cop who embraces his lifelong love for dancing in his 40s; Kamathipura, a fantasy thriller set in the titular neighbourhood and Flat Bol Mumma, Flat!, a peek into the life in the chawls of the city.

“To make it a learning experience for aspiring artistes, we are hosting an improv acting workshop led by Neeltarni Pratap, a film writer based out of Los Angeles. The workshop will focus on dynamic character development, stretching the emotional range and the physical awareness of actors,” he shares. There will also be workshops for visual arts and sculpture led by artist Shraddha Kirvale that will introduce participants to new mediums and formats. “We strive to build a community of like-minded individuals who can contribute to cinema at large,” Rathore concludes.
