Following Emma Corrin’s evocative portrayal in the fourth season of The Crown, it’s now the turn of Kristen Stewart to step into the stylish shoes of Diana, Princess of Wales, with the biopic titled Spencer. Stewart’s recently released looks have turned the spotlight once again on Diana’s style, which is often emulated and much admired. Fashion-forward readers share their interpretations of their most beloved looks.

Hip in houndstooth: The houndstooth print is a timeless classic, made more fashion-forward by Princess Diana, who wore it in a red, white and black suit, says Thampi. Give this a more wearable spin by combining  a houndstooth skirt or dress with a solid separate, such as a cardigan or blazer.

Fine in floral: A light floral dress spells summer and instantly becomes more sophisticated and versatile when layered with a sharp white jacket, says marketing professional Gayatri Thampi. Choose smaller-sized prints and accessorise with a pearl choker, and  simple flats or low heels.

Bold colour-blocking: Diana was no stranger to colour-blocking and would often pick contrasting bold colours. To pare down the outfit, she chose simple, sharp silhouettes that added structure. Instead of a suit, you could layer a contrasting jacket and pin the ends together with an embellished brooch, says Dash.

Feminine frills: Diana wore this sparkly blue and black number during the Royal Tour of Italy in 1985. To update the look, media educator Sthitipragnya Dash suggests pairing a layered tulle skirt with a sparkling top. Add sleek heels and glittering accessories such as a tiara.
