Listen to real-life horror stories that aren’t meant for the faint-hearted

A bowl of creepypasta

An episode on California features real-life horror stories from the state

The Let’s Read Podcast has garnered a lot of attention for its content largely on account of it being user-generated. The stories that feature in the podcast are true experiences that are sent in for curated episodes regularly. The host, Joel AKA Mr Read, has an important part to play in the fact that these stories stick with you long after you are done listening. His mellow and sombre tone makes for an engaging listen that draws you into the world of nightmares and horrors.

With a mix of creepypasta and truth, the American podcast has created a strong community on social media platforms. It has made for a great source of information, creativity, imagination and true stories that make for the chunk of the good material that is being put out. Like most horror story-based podcasts, the experience of listening to the narrator is what counts; Joel has managed to produce some spine-chilling stories with an edge that keeps you on your toes.

The idea for Let’s Read was first born on YouTube in audio form before it made its way into the world of podcasts in 2018. The show is constantly rated at the top and the fact that it is largely user-generated, makes for a high demand. The stories in the podcast range from creepy stalkers, highway hitchhiker nightmares to paranormal experiences and myriad legends of a similar kind. The eclectic stories, the riveting narration and the atmosphere that the narrator creates has made the Let’s Read Podcast one of the best in the storytelling genre.

Plug in to the Let’s Read Podcast for a chilling and scary-account-filled rollercoaster. This might not be a preferable night-time playlist staple, but it surely makes for a bonfire campsite experience like no other.
