Fatboy Slim

Q. What is your view on the current scenario of the Dance music industry?
A. Like all music, there is good and bad, original and predictable, underground and commercial. It is as easy to make bad Country and Western music, as it is with EDM.

Q. What’s on your playlist right now?
A. Jegog by Chocolate Puma, Flippant by Steve Parrey, The Ride (Robbie Rivera mix) by The Cube Guys, Riva Starr’s I Believe In You and Jimi Polo’s Better Days (Doorly remix). I used to listen to mainly this kind of music 24x7. But as I get older, I don’t mix business with pleasure. So, when I’m not working, it’s The Carpenters!

Q. You are known to be a food lover. Any dishes you would like to try when here?
A. It’s funny you say that because I never really cared for Indian food until I came here a couple of years back. I have a lot of catching up to do, so I will be trying everything.

Q. What’s your favourite music venue(s)?
A. Space, Playa d’en Bossa, Ibiza.

Q. Who is your favourite Indian music artiste?
A. In terms of Indian music, sadly, my musical education began and ended with late Pandit Ravi Shankar. I feel ashamed, I should know more!

Q. What are your plans for the concert?
A. It is only my second time in India, so, it still feels like quite an adventure for me. It is good to see a festival that goes beyond established genres. There are so many festivals that all feel the same. The location and adventure involved in Bacardi Enchanted Valley Carnival seems to create a unique vibe. I probably won’t be able to participate in too many of the extreme sports but I will thrive off that atmosphere and try and make it even more special. We are bringing the big show, so anything can happen and probably will. I aim to see smiles on faces and a little wiggle of the hips!
