With dating apps offering people a wider dating pool and the world of romance ever-evolving, individuals have a plethora of choices and more comfortable avenues to meet their potential partner. Simultaneously, the dynamics of modern relationships have changed. Fast romance is the ongoing trend among the newer generation of dating individuals, and to maintain the equilibrium, dating individuals from all over the country are taking small but conscious steps.
The Indian dating app QuackQuack conducted an online survey among its users to shed light on this topic and educate new dating individuals who are still figuring out how to build better connections.

The survey ran for five days, targeting individuals who are actively dating or are in a committed relationship. A total of 14,000 dating individuals between the age group of 18 and 32 participated in the study. The respondents were given a series of questions related to online dating and connecting with a match virtually.
The app's founder and CEO, Ravi Mittal said, "Currently we have over 27 million users and from their matching pattern and other behaviour, we observed that most of these dating individuals match with two or three people simultaneously, but none commit in a rush. They take their time and chat continuously for a week or two before sharing their numbers to one of these matches, the most compatible one. And even after that, dating individuals continue talking for quite some time before deciding to meet up in person."

Delving deeper
29 per cent of dating individuals participating in the survey advised delving deeper before making any commitment. They recommend doing a deep search on any match that holds the potential to be "something more". Looking at the dating profile of a person is not enough. It is vital to take a slow and thorough look into their social media handles, speak to at least one friend, and make an informed decision. Anyone will put their best foot forward while interacting with a match. Determining if a person is worthy of your love and trust requires more than mere chatting for a few days, said these dating individuals from Tier 1 and 2 cities.

Importance of emotional connection
54 per cent of dating individuals, Gen Z and Millennials advocated the need for a strong emotional connection before committing to an online match. Touching the surface-level connection is never enough to build a lasting relationship. Their statements cited a massive shift from superficial concerns to a more meaningful relationship. It is essential to have more profound conversations with a match and open up about minor details of your life before making an individual your partner, explained these dating individuals between the age range of 22 to 28.

Deal-breakers
38 per cent of women who are in favour of delving deeper before settling down cited the significance of being aware of deal-breakers and uncovering them through prolonged communication. They suggest talking about life goals, and perspectives on things, and seeing how your match deals with difficult situations before becoming too invested.

Balancing patience and progress
Patience is the key for an online connection to successfully turn into a serious relationship. 21 per cent of men above 30 acknowledged how important it is to strike a balance between progress and patience. They explained how dating individuals should take things slow. They should scope their options because there are many and not settle for the first person who smiles at them. Moreover, rushing a relationship has never worked for anyone. Moving too fast, declaring love and committing prematurely can also come off as suspicious to the opposite person.

Resolving concerns
Ghosting is not unusual in any form of dating. 40 per cent of women from metros and other developed cities expressed their concerns about being ghosted or manipulated into indulging in casual dating while seeking something more permanent and they believe that prolonging the getting-to-know part can actually reduce the chances of the same. Even if there are miscommunications about the intent of dating, it can get cleared if the chatting phase runs longer.
