Has our flirty friendship moved beyond just that?

Dear Diana,
I'm now in first year of junior college and I thought things have been going really well for me. I get along with almost everyone, I have the perfect boyfriend, and I hang out in a small group that consist of five of my best guy friends.

But lately rumours have been spreading that I and my very best friend Soumen have been fooling around behind my boyfriend's back. Our friendship seems very flirtatious to someone who doesn't know us. We joke about sex, and I am comfortable enough to hug him etc. Now everyone is saying that he likes me, but I don't believe it. I've doubted it at times, as he sometimes seems nervous around me, but we're always joking so I can't tell if he's serious. What do you think I should do?

NM

Dear NM,
He may be interested and not making any moves because he respects that you already have a boyfriend. He may seem nervous some times because he is feeling cautious at the moment and not want to cross any lines. The best way to handle this is to just straight out ask him if he has feelings for you that he wants more than just best friends.

Not depending on how that goes, have you talked to your boyfriend about this? He may have some ideas how to handle this. Have you asked any of yours and his friends about what his deal is? They might give you some clues or hints to what's going on. Does he act this way around anyone else, particularly any other girls he may be interested in?

This might show that he can get nervous around other girls too. Also, stop joking with guys about sex. It makes you look bad. And you definitely do not want to do any of that knowing you have a boyfirend, it makes him look like an idiot. Alsou00a0 stop flirting with your friend or you might just end up losing your boyfriend.

I overthink everything

Dear Diana,

I'm curious! I think the reason for my having problems with everyone in my family, as well as my friends, is due to the fact that I overthink EVERYTHING. Why is it that some of us do this on a constant basis? Any advice?

Kajal

Dear Kajal,

Maybe you are more curious about things and like to understand things in detail. Or maybe you've had bad experiences in the past and are trying to prevent them. You may have a more analytical mind and this does not have to be classed as a 'problem.' Relax.

Dunno where my long-distance boyfriend lives

Dear Diana,

I was just looking for some ideas on what to do about Valentine's Day for my boyfriend. We are in a LDR (Long Distance Relationship). We have been kinda in a relationship for a while now, and as ridiculous as it sounds, I don't actually have his address. But on Feb 14, I obviously want to do something to signify my feelings for him, but really don't have a clue what to do (am very inexperienced on the dating front, never mind the LDR). Can you please help me with some tips?

Sasha

Dear Sasha,
Well since you don't really have an address for him. Then I am assuming this is mostly an internet releationship. Maybe you can email him a love letter, expressing how you feel about him. You could also send virtual greeting and flowers. Maybe you can ask him if he wants to meet, and perhaps fly down to see him. Although do so, only if you trust him. Stay at a hotel, not at his place, and keep your friends and family informed about him and the meeting place etc. Or tell him you'd like to send hima ticket so you can meet him. Maybe it's time to take this forward?u00a0
