'Going out for 3 years and yet to hear I love you...'

Dear Diana |

Dear Diana, I'm a 28 and going out with a guy who is two years older to me and is from the same office I work in.

'Going out for 3 years and yet to hear I love you...'

We’ve been together for three years now and we are even thinking of settling down someday soon. There’s no hurry anyway. However, no matter how much I love my boyfriend, I can’t get over the fact that he hasn’t once mentioned the magical three words ‘I love you’ yet. It’s like he’s allergic to the word ‘love’ though I’m a romantic and keep repeating the words at will. Is it a matter of concern or am I over-guessing here?

Dear Chandni,
Your guy seems to be reserved and a practical sort of person. You keep saying it all the time, so he feels there is no need for him to say it too. He thinks action says it better than words. Or perhaps he is still playing safe as he is unsure about where the relationship will head. Just because he does not say those three words does not mean that he does not love you. As long as he cares for you, there is no need that he coos those words in your ears. Remember a guy may feign love to you but be two-timing you at the same time. Your guy is one of those who is not too expressive.u00a0
