The World’s Most Famous Tiger
Set in Ranthambore National Park, the 45-minute documentary by National Geographic follows tigress Machli and her three cubs: Unis, Athara, and Satra. As the cubs grow and reach maturity, they must fend for themselves which eventually leaves them in a direct battle against their mother for the coveted lakeside territory Machli has dominated for 11 years. The documentary beautifully depicts tigers in all their glory and captures this dramatic battle of survival, at the end of which the mother emerges victorious.

Tigerland
Directed by Oscar-winning director Ross Kauffman, this documentary follows Pavel Fomenko, Director of Rare Species Conservation, World Wildlife Fund (Russia) and Kailash Sankhala, renowned Indian conservationist and former director of Project Tiger. Oscillating between Russia and India, home to the largest tiger populations in the world, the two-hour documentary aims to give viewers a peek into the lives of those who are fighting tooth-and-nail to save the tigers. The director has used animation to paint a vivid picture and convey a story that is sure to leave audiences hopeful about tiger conservation.

This six-episode documentary series presented by noted natural historian Sir David Attenborough is ideal for those who are curious about the animal kingdom. Each hour-long episode gives viewers detailed and intimate insights into the lifestyle and behaviours of endangered animal families. Each episode follows generations of emperor penguins, tigers, lions, painted wolves, and chimpanzees and dives deep into their struggles and need for conservation. The fifth episode is set in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve and follows tigress Raj Bhera as she cares for her newborn cubs.

Tigress Blood
A one-of-a-kind documentary depicting the coming-of-age of four sister tigresses is sure to interest wildlife enthusiasts. Set in Central India, the documentary follows Sonam, Lara, Geeta, and Mona as they battle for dominance over their homeland taking their mother’s place. Tigers are solitary hunters and each tigress must make one large kill to survive independently. In violation of this norm, these sisters bind together and hunt as a family.
