In conversation with Mid-day on the occasion of World Environment Day, Jackie Shroff said, "People carry phones and what not in their hands. I thought I'll carry a plant and roam." Shroff had lately become a social media favourite with his public appearances featuring a potted plant in his hand. 


The environment enthuiast and Bollywood actor linked his passion of plants to a school project in which he sowed methi seeds as a young child. 


Speaking of the spider-plant's unique quality—which the star is constantly spotted carrying—he mentioned that it provides oxygen even at night and that there is no greater companion than this one.
