She says it was the arc and reach of the character that attracted her to do the role as Arushi is strong and relentless, yet vulnerable. This is show is a first of its kind and stars Rumana Molla in the lead role.
Game of the sexes revolves around mixed gender cricket and a strong headed but vulnerable girl, who goes against all odds to chase her dream in a man-dominated arena.
Talking about her role in the forthcoming sports drama series, Rumana Molla said, “my character, Arushi, is a strong girl, she is surviving in a world which is dominated by men, she is extremely level headed but the character has various shades. She is ambitious with a crystal clear vision but she is extremely stubborn, she goes against all odds and everyone.
She is righteous in her own way,and she doesn’t mind crossing the line, if need be". Furthermore, adds Rumana, apart from being a sports drama, the underlying current of the story is to break stereotypes and preconceived bias.
She said, “My character comes up with the idea of mixed gender cricket, which is something that doesn’t sit well with the patriarchal corporate structure. But Arushi is like a fluttering kite in the hurricane and chases her belief regardless of anything. The show is helmed by Deepak Pandey and also stars Piyush Ranade, Megha Prasad, Shobhit Attray, Shahbaz Khan, Riya Deepsi, Sneha Wagh, Sachin Verma and Rahul Jaitly.
