Social worker Sikander Behl fosters aid to Covid-affected under aegis of Durga Charitable Trust

With operational measures like nation-wide lockdown, social distancing norms, hygiene measures to contain the disease, we still have a long way to go to fathom screening & managing the increasing number of covid cases on a daily basis. As India still continues to confront the epidemic, we as individuals are inspired and influenced to play multiple roles revolving around the welfare & safety of our society. Sikander Behl, a young social reformer and philanthropist is impacting positive changes with his noble initiatives by serving humanity and encouraging the youth to extend support of any form. In this crisis, Sikander has been putting efforts in mobilizing public and private resources to address quick, flexible responses and enrich an individual’s life, which is rightly the focus of so much concern and action currently. Sikander has recently joined hands with D.C Trust assisting the poor section of the Indian society, regularly distributing food and water to the homeless and destitute; arranging food packets and health kits for migrant workers; providing oxygen cylinders, concentrators, masks, sanitizers and reaching out to the rural India by providing them home isolation kits.


Sikander Behl is a social worker and a rising political activist who recently contested Election for General Secretary, Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress. Born to Mrs. Geetanjali and Mr. Punish Kumar Behl. He belongs to a well respected business family and holds a BA LLB degree.



Sikander has been collecting data related to Covid affected people, and working with government personnels, healthcare professionals, public representatives, seeking help of media to disseminate important announcements, necessary information like availability of hospital beds, ICU beds, oxygen cylinders, medicines, lab tests of various forms. Through D.C Trust, a Non-profit organization, Sikander has been providing services and amenities to government hospitals, and special Covid wards with ICU beds, oxygen cylinders, medicines, and RT-PCR test of various states in the country.


Sikander mentioned, “People are running for oxygen cylinders, medicines, and ICU beds. I cannot promise them a life may be, but I can definitely ensure supplying them their needful for as long as I live. I want to put my skills at work and do all in my power to address areas of healthcare & socio-economic support in relation to the pandemic and being accountable for recovery efforts.”

Sikander is both physically and socially active in his social media handles, like, Facebook, Twitter & Instagram and is constantly sharing information in regard to covid assistance throughout the Delhi state and remotely for other states of the country. He is at present associated with many philanthropic collaboratives, donation camps, helping with funds , influence the financially sound for thoughtful deployment of funds, disbursing required essentials to the affected & vulnerable, helping NGOs raise more funds, to reach out to as many people as he can. With death & despondency hovering over the nation, we need more people like Sikander to proliferate needful assistance at these turbulent times.
