- Tell us a little bit about Bizspan.

Bizspan came into existence with an intention to assist Indian as well as international companies to establish or manage their full-fledged operations in our country. One section deals in developing businesses for Indian companies from different sectors like Nanotechnology, Edtech, FMCG, Chemical, and Fashion.
We help them by rectifying the complex issues through a detailed analysis of management structure, supply chain, production, product development & deliverables. Based on our analysis, we provide the most suitable solutions and plans for business growth.
Another section of it deals in market entry consulting in which we develop a thorough roadmap for the non-Indian companies aiming at tapping into the Indian market or an established Indian firm expanding its market reach in the new regions. In addition to this, we also provide project management assistance to non-Indian companies.
For instance, we have worked with a Turkish company in the FMCG sector and a Canadian company operating in the biotechnology domain. We’ve also worked on a sustainability project of the UNDP in collaboration with Stockholm International Water Institute, where Bizspan has worked in the textile and pharma domain.
- What inspired you to bring Bizspan to life?
After completing my master's in Micro and nanosystem I worked as a nano-technologist in Germany. Apart from that, I have done some research projects in Japan and the Netherlands.
I started my first company in Indonesia five years back, and while working there, I faced many challenges related to both macro and micro-business environments. Like Indonesia, India is also a developing nation and is one of the biggest markets in the world. I pondered on the fact that businesses that are planning to tap into the Indian market or are already operating in it might be facing similar challenges.
This inspired me to go ahead with the idea of helping such organizations with my experience and knowledge while collaborating with some consultants.
This led to the establishment of Bizspan and now we are assisting both Indian as well as foreign companies to develop and expand their businesses locally as well as globally.
- As a successful business leader, if you had to give one piece of advice to aspiring entrepreneurs, what would that be?
A piece of advice that I would give to budding entrepreneurs is “have patience.” Especially in a developing nation like India, having patience with your start-up in its initial growth years is quintessential. Read and learn every single day. Take out time for reading so that you’re updated about all that’s going on around the world.
Apart from practicing these two virtues, develop a very strong network of people. Be around people from whom you can learn something every day, something that enhances your professional personality.
- What is the biggest risk you’ve taken during your Bizspan journey?
Even after getting multiple scholarships and research opportunities in Europe, I left it all and took the risk of coming to India where there is a challenge at every step. Starting a business as a first-generation businessman in India is highly risk-taking. With no background in the family business, I had to face tremendous emotional pressure from the people around me.
Whether or not my business will work? Did I make the right decision by leaving the better life in Europe and coming back to India? Is my career and future at risk? Bizspan came into existence amidst all these risks. To top it all, COVID came along our journey. Our clients generally work with us for a minimum of 1-2 years. Owing to the lockdown situation due to COVID, a lot of our clients’ factories had to shut down their operations. Working with such clients while sustaining them and keeping them motivated throughout was a really big challenge that we overcame.
- How is Bizspan helping businesses?
Some businesses have been in the market for the past 40 years but haven’t grown much as they should have during this time. Bizspan’s team reviews issues in client’s management, operations, deliverables, production, technology, market expansion, product development, and the probable future of the products. Furthermore, we let them explore a plethora of services that their organization demands to embark on a new journey in the digital market space.
- How do the next 5 years look like for Bizspan?
We will focus on gathering more international clients who can be invited to India to be assisted with their business development. We also aim to target infrastructure projects, R&D projects and establish some foreign clients’ companies in India. We are not only focusing on growing in numbers but also providing impactful solutions to the clients. Bizspan aims to help Indian companies grow and to bring foreign companies to expand their business in India.
- Which are the top sectors that are benefiting the most from your company and how?
We’ve worked on sustainability by making policies concerning water pollution in the Pharma and textile sector.
We’ve also worked with companies dealing in Nano-technology by assisting them with their management, operations, product development, R&D, and market expansion.
Coming on to the Edtech industry, we have provided innovation strategies in management, operations, and market expansion.
Apart from these three industries, we have clients in industries, such as Public Health Care, Fashion, FMCG, Chemical industries, Heavy engineering equipment industry, and Safety & Security.
