Anurag said- When the organizers of this concert approached me with the idea that 'no one should sleep hungry' and we should support the trans community in these tough times, the idea immediately resonated with me. I've always believed that music has the power to move people and it can bring substantial changes."
Anurag performed some of his hits like 'Kehna tha tumse' and 'Tumhe dekha toh' at this virtual online concert, leaving the audience craving for more. The online event was organized by Socio Story, an NGO working as an association of social workers. This gentle initiative under the name of #We4India is imparting motivation to the people of the transgender society.
Along with Anurag Dixit, artists from across the globe performed and participated in the event. Grammy-winning musician Ricky Kej, Grammy-nominated musician Ronnie Park, singers Raghu Dixit & Nikhita Gandhi were among them. All these artists have a global influence and wide reach that helped in raising funds for this social cause.
When people are going through the agony of the pandemic, Anurag’s latest releases soothe them by the side. With his latest releases like ‘Dheere Dheere’ & ‘Ek Nazar’, he has been all over the internet and music platforms. The new songs are follow-ups to Anurag's already impressive musical work which includes several MTV hits and award-winning songs.
Talking about the current scenario amidst pandemic and lockdown, the singer who writes and composes all his songs says "As an artist, I feel I have a greater role to play in difficult times. I will feel blessed If my music makes people forget about their problems, even if for a short amount of time." Anurag has been working on new music throughout the lockdown, writing and composing over 40 new songs. Apart from being loved nationally, Anurag has made his mark on the international music scene as well. He is featured as one of the world’s most popular musicians on FL Studio’s ‘Power artists’ list. He was also recently invited as a featured speaker on Full Sail University’s (USA) industry talk show.
A self-made artist Anurag Dixit has marked his name as one of the most popular artists in Indian pop music. But the life story behind this self-made man is even more inspiring. "I always wanted to become a musician but coming from a middle-class family and having no Godfather in the industry, this dream seemed like an impossible task." Says Anurag. “To stick around long enough to a goal, one must have a never-ending belief in themselves. The journey will itself reveal your inner self and will help in shaping up your destiny”.
Apart from participating in social causes, Anurag and his wife Manisha founded a music school named Musicology in 2003. Now, a very well reputed institution, Musicology offers online and on-site certificate courses for children and budding artists. "Finding systematic & quality music education was a major struggle in the early days of my musical journey," says Anurag. So I decided to provide a platform that offered step-by-step methods for learning music. My wife Manisha came in as a major force behind it as she handles all the administrative work at the school. She also came up with the name 'Musicology' which means 'the scientific study of music. After almost two decades, Musicology is proud to have an impressive group of alumni, including MTV artists and music industry professionals. Since 2003, the school has certified over 30,000 students. "We never knew that the dream to provide systematic, quality music education would manifest so beautifully in the form of Musicology," says Anurag. His wife Manisha tells us "When some of our students moved to other cities or countries, they used to tell us that they couldn't find any music school like Musicology. We didn't give it much thought until we started online classes in 2018. We were quite surprised to see that students from all around the world were registering for Musicology courses. Anurag himself actively takes masterclasses to make students gain true craftsmanship in music.
Musicology is also associated with several non-profit organizations. Musicology continuously provides free music education and other resources to the under-privileged.
Ending this with an inspiring message from Anurag himself “You were born to be unique, so find your passion and do whatever it takes to follow it.”
