Matunga is, undoubtedly, the centre of South Indian culture. From its Udupi restaurants that serve piquant sambhar to a bevy of South Indian shops that offer flowers and pooja items, Matunga is like a mini South India that exudes a distinct colour and flavour.
Those who wish to learn more about the different South Indian communities in Matunga can sign-up for a special photowalk, titled, Little Madras Photo Walk, organised by Groupies India, a social group which organises interesting things to do for small groups of people in Goa and Mumbai. Apart from introducing participants to Matunga’s communities, the walk will cover its arts and crafts, architecture, and of course food.
