With the recent launch of the luxurious Volvo S90 in India, it is now being heard that the Swedish car maker has at least 5 new launches in store of car lovers.
The models in question include XC90 R-Design, updated V40 and V40 Cross Country along with a performance-spec Polestar model, most likely the S60. Also, Volvo is targeting to enter the station-wagon space with the V90 Cross Country.
Lets take a quick glimpse through these new variants:
XC90 R-Design: This is the sportier looking version of the SUV. The XC90 features sports seats with leather/nubuck upholstery, black headlining, black mesh front grille and matte silver wing mirrors. It includes 20-inch alloy wheels along with silk metal surrounds for the front grille and windows. Other specifications include gear lever, floor pedals, floor mats, illuminated tread plates and remote control.
S60 Polestar: Though this sedan is already available in T6 variant, Volvo is expected to go a level high with the launch of S60 Polestar. The sedan is packed with 2.0-litre Drive-E 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine that makes 367PS of power and 467Nm of torque. It can pick a speed limit of 0-100kmph time of 4.7 seconds!
V40 and V40 Cross Country facelifts: This is the most affordable Volvo that received a facelift this year. Its highlights are: the new family look fascia along with ‘Thor’s Hammer’ daytime running LEDs, new front grille and updated design for the Volvo badge. The cars will be available in a new range of colour options, wheel designs and variant badges. There will be ‘City Weave’ upholstery and interior trim elements like milled aluminium, black grid aluminium and stealth aluminium.
V90 Cross Country: This gets touches of a station wagon like 65mm of added ground clearance and body-cladding to butch things up. The car won’t be a performance estate like the RS6 Avant, but it is most likely to be available in the 'D4' diesel engine like the S90 that makes 190PS/400Nm, alongside a 8-speed automatic gearbox.
While the V90 Cross Country is expected to launch in mid 2017, the other variants mentioned above could be launched in the coming 2-3 months.
