Hear 170 flautists at once
9.30 am onwards: Flautist Vivek Sonar’s charitable trust Gurukul Pratishthan has organised the second edition of Arpan, a flute concert, to celebrate Guru Purnima. The event will feature Sonar (in pic) and 170 of his disciples, aged 6 to 80 years from all over Maharashtra. The programme will end with a flute recital by Sonar himself.

Be part of monologues of myriad hues
7 pm onwards: It is the year of sequels and Rage is getting on the bandwagon with the second chapter of their popular monologue show, One on One. Presented by Showhouse Theatre Series, One on One 2 stars Rajit Kapur (in pic), Anu Menon, Neil Bhoopalam, Hussain Dalal, Sumeet Vyas, ShikhaTalsania, Zafar Karachiwala and Gopal Datt. Like the first one, it is a compilation of 10 rivetting stories written and directed by a some of the most well-known names from Mumbai theatre industry, including Rahul DaCunha, Rajit Kapur, Nadir Khan, Sumeet Vyas, Ashish Jagtiani and Hussain Dalal.

'Tis the season for black truffles
6.30 pm — 12 pm: Chef Valentina Amati has just returned from Norcia. She has brought with her enough black summer truffles to host a Black Truffle Festival at Le Cirque at The Leela till August 15. “They are a mix between tuber and mushroom and are available from June till August 30. They pair best with eggs, chocolate and porcini and morel mushrooms,” Amati explains.

The extensive black truffle menu will begin with truffle soup, emmental cheese fondue and scrambled eggs. “For the main course, I have paired them with chicken, lobster and dauphinoise (a French style lasagna with layers of vegetables) dishes,” says Amati.
