A flash sale for the ChampOne S1 smartphone is set to begin on September 2. But, there's a catch. According to the company's official website, the price is for promotional reasons and the phone's priced will be increased to Rs 8,000 after it gains popularity. Registrations for the flash sale have been opened since August 22.

After delivering the first 5,000 'Freedom 251' smartphones, Ringing Bells on announced on early August that it would deliver 65,000 more devices to those who had booked the less than $4 smartphones in the cash on delivery (COD) mode.

The startup firm from Noida has launched the world's cheapest smartphone 'Freedom 251' in February this year, at a throw away price of Rs 251. Soon after its launch the company refused to register any bookings as the official site crashed.

Noida Police later registered a case of cheating against the owner of Ringing Bells who had offered to sell the world's cheapest smartphone following a complaint filed by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya.
