Laugh riots, films on the tiger, intense docus on young politicians, watch all this and more tomorrow as part of Shamiana's anniversary celebration

Cyrus Dastur, founder of short film club Shamiana, thought otherwise. So for his documentary, Songs of Blood & Sword, he met up with Fatima Bhutto, when she came visiting Mumbai last year. "Meeting Bhutto was an exciting experience," says Dastur.

"We had an exciting conversation and spoke about scandals that rocked Pakistan. Bhutto means what she says, you can't take her for a ride. She is a 21st century citizen of the world, with both beauty and brains," he says.
Love Book
Songs of Blood & Sword
documents the course of Fatima Bhutto's life and political career. "We spoke about the future of Pakistan, corruption and other issues," says Dastur. The 10-minute documentary is one of the six that will be showcased tomorrow as part of Shamiana's anniversary celebrations. Then there is Love Book -- a tale of love and romance in the backdrop of the Aligarh Muslim University.
"The documentaries to be screened will be a mix of various emotions. There are laugh riots and social causes, and even animations," points out Dastur. Love How I Met Your Mother? Then watch this Punjabi version, Mein Teri Ma Nu Kiven Milya -- a five-minute laugh riot directed by Rasik Chopra -- a hilarious Punjabi take on How I Met Your Mother. Then there is No Smoking, a fun take which tells you to kick the butt, directed by an IIT Delhi student.
That doesn't end the unconventional bit though. For more, watch Caught and Move On by Must Bol -- two out of the box shorts that will encourage you to think beyond the conventional. The short film fest will also feature Tiger talk, that looks at tigers through the eyes of people directly involved with the majestic animal -- forest officers, forest guards, conservationists, mahouts, researchers and others who devote years for the cause. The film introduces WWF India's book on tigers and narrates few of the stories about these heroes and how they see the tiger. Go catch them.
