Jan Fest, one of the most-awaited cultural festivals of the year, is back and features three special performances this year.
Organised by the Indian Music Group, the Classical music group of St Xavier’s College, the festival, takes place in the open first quadrangle of the college and is known not only for the artistes who have performed at the fest, including musicians like the late Pandit Ravi Shankar, but also for the stellar ambience that the college provides.

This year, the festival will open with a performance by santoor player and vocalist Rahul Sharma, which will be followed by a performance by vocalist Girija Devi on Republic Day (January 26).
Day Two at the festival (January 27), will see two separate performances starting with tabla maestro Ustad Fazal Qureshi, who will be joined by Sridhar Parthasarthy, Ustad Dilshad Khan and Mahesh Vinayakram; Shri Ganesh and Shri Kumaresh and Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty under Peshkaar. The festival will conclude with a performance by Ustad Rashid Khan from the Rampur-Sahaswan gharana.
