Several years down the line, Jayashree Joshi (70), Jayu Dingankar (52), Hema Date (60) and Mrunal Joshi (46) are ready to showcase 60 artworks in mediums as varied as water colours, poster colors and acrylics. Talking about the exhibition, artist Mrunal Joshi says, “We work in oil, acrylic, water colour and poster colours. Hema has done a number of paintings in African art, Jayashree loves to do landscapes and Jayu has done paintings of Ajanta caves.”
Joshi has a range of figurative art including Buddha paintings. Talking about it, she says, “It has been difficult for all of us to put up an exhibition together as we are not professionals. Hence, there is no theme for the exhibition. We have tried to explore every medium that we can. To develop our skills we are currently undergoing some training in mixed media.” The exhibition will be inaugurated by cartoonist Mangesh Tendulkar today.
