Head to the newly-opened Organized Khau Galli (OKG) at Tilak Road to gorge on scrumptious street food
There’s good news for fast food-loving Punekars. The newly-opened eatery, Organized Khau Galli (OKG), serves a spread of street food specialties including Mumbai favourites like Vada Pav and Pav Bhaji, at reasonable rates. As soon as we stepped in, we noticed a comfortable, cosy ambiance, a perfect idea for a relaxed evening with friends or family.

The colourful cutlery and hygienic set-up meant that we started off our foodie adventure on a positive note. The category of Vada Pavs was intriguingly called Fort Cha Raja We ordered for an interesting variant of the Vada Pav -- the Masala Vada Pav (Rs 25), which is a combination of Masala Pav and Vada Pav; that won our vote immediately.
Since the owners belong to the Jain community, they offer Jain versions of any dish on the menu; from the Frankie to Vada Pav as told by the owners Shejal and husband Premal Vashani, later. They added that since the eatery was frequented by collegians and office folk, they ensured that the food has been reasonably priced.
The duo added that they consciously hired young chefs in their kitchen so that they were open to experimentation are produce interesting options consistently.
By now, we had set our eyes on the Cheese Vada Pav (Rs 35) and the Masala Khichya (Rs 35) which is a kind of masala papad made with a rice papad base and laced with cucumber and tomato toppings. Both were winners. OKG serves sandwiches, Chinese food, fruit juices, milkshakes and faloodas as well. Its slow service apart; OKG is a value-for-money option for those who are keen to grab a bite on-the-go.
