Fans of the original 1980s Dragon Ball anime will feast on this tag-team fighting game that features amazing true-to-life characters

Dragon Ball is a popular anime in India, and many of us have grown up watching this TV show. However, the same love cannot be shared for most of the videogames attached to the series. They rarely capture the speed of the action or even the feel of the world.
Dragon Ball FighterZ changes that. Sure, the game isn’t perfect, but it is fun as hell. Both fans and those new to it will enjoy the seemingly complex set of motions that come from the rather simple set of controls provided in the game. But, before we get to that, we need to talk about how good this game looks.
There’s no doubt that this game was painstakingly animated to recreate the show. The interactive backgrounds and the spectacularly visual super moves bring a feel of the anime, which was lacking in other games of the franchise. The game also oozes fluidity - you can unleash a flurry of attacks that are simple to execute, but look spectacular on screen.
The story mode is fun if you are a fan of the show, else it may seem to drag on. This is mostly because the game spends zero time explaining characters and the background of the show.
The story also has a lot of nice twists and humour emulating the experience of watching the show perfectly. Since we love the original voice acting of the characters, we stuck to Japanese with English subtitles. However, you can also play the story mode with the English voice-overs and subtitles.
The local multiplayer is also a great experience, which allows novices to participate on equal footing, making this game great for a lazy competition between friends. The characters are well balanced and it makes Dragon Ball FighterZ a possible tournament worthy game.
Despite a few minor glitches, the game ticks all the right boxes. The price of admission is a bit higher than the competition, but we can nonetheless see fans gobble this up.
