With a lineup that includes Sir VS Naipaul, Naseeruddin Shah, Astad Deboo and Girish Karnad, among writers, performers, film legends and journalists, Mumbai's literary buffs can look forward to the third edition of Tata Literature Live! The Mumbai LitFest

It’s a meeting of minds that will please the heart of every literature and culture loving Mumbaiite. Starting today, they will be treated to five days of engrossing sessions that range from book readings and panel discussions to workshops and performances across dance, music and theatre. Now in its third year, Indian author and columnist Anil Dhaker started the festival.



Undoubtedly, a big draw will be Sir Vidia S. Naipaul’s presence at the festival, where he will be presented the Landmark Lifetime Achievement Award. Look out for discussions, dialogue and debate that will include Shashi Tharoor (talking about his just-released book Pax Indica), Shobhaa De, Ashok Banker, Arvind Krishna, Ranjit Hoskote, as well as English poets, Glynn Maxwell and Ruth Padel.


Others on the schedule include Faramerz Dabhoiwala whose book, The Origins of Sex has been making waves in the West, investigative journalist Scott Carney, American psychologist James Fallon and Professor Juliet Mitchell of Cambridge University will be present. Cinema buffs can indulge in sessions, which will include Ashutosh Gowarikar, Kiran Rao and Karan Johar.
