Lessons from the fieldRahul Dravid
Rahul Dravid

June 30, 9 am: They say, there's always something to learn out of every experience. Cricketer Rahul Dravid will put this to practice at an upcoming two-day workshop titled Emotional Intelligence Alive, organised by Square Circles, a firm that provides coaching solutions. Here, he will cull out lessons from his life that have helped hone his people-management skills.

"I think we judge talent incorrectly. We normally go by someone's ability to strike a cricket ball, the sweetness and the timing. I think I have made the same mistake. Qualities like determination, courage, discipline, temperament also count as talent," says Dravid.

The 43-year-old will talk about instances from transitioning from Test cricket to T-20, coaching the under-19 team, mentoring India's future Olympians and Paralympians, managing himself on and off the field, and more.

The first day of the workshop, however, will be helmed by international trainer and author Satish Mandora. Mandora will cover topics like self awareness, self management, channelising emotional energies, change and management, among others.
