The research showed that a third of Britons who go through leaving home, marriage and parenthood between 20 and 30 are more content in their 20s.
The study also showed the age of their not so nice experiences.
A typical Briton falls in love for the first time at 18 but there could be heartbreak by 20, divorce at 34 and a mid-life crisis at 41.
Research for computer game The Sims 3 Generations, found that becoming a parent for the first time is the most momentous life event for 33 per cent.
Marrying was the most significant moment for 24 per cent but teenage was the most unhappy time for 34 per cent.
