'I am attracted to other guys...'

Dear Diana

Dear Diana,
I've been with my boyfriend since our college days. We are both 26 now and employed. We have been through a lot of ups and downs in our relationship. A couple of years ago, I had some issues with depression and anxiety. He supported me emotionally and financially. I'm in a fairly good place now, and in a job that I enjoy a lot. Of late, however, I find myself attracted to two office colleagues. It's not that I'm unhappy with my boyfriend, but we are not growing together and I find myself thinking about these other guys. I also feel guilty about it. As we work together long hours, I feel extremely comfortable with them around. I sometimes feel as I have been with this guy since the age of 17, I did not look beyond him. I don't know why I have this feeling that there are more interesting guys around.

Dear Jessy,
As you spend a good number of hours with your two colleagues at work, you have developed a rapport with them. They may also be comfortable with you around. There is a difference between liking someone and loving someone. After all these years, you feel that you are caught in a relationship that is going nowhere. Perhaps the spark has gone missing from your romance. As you have grown up together, you are now taking things for granted. You two need to talk it over. You are 26 and it is time you thought of taking the relationship to the next level. You should get engaged, and plan marriage after a year or two. Taking this decision might bring back the romance as there will be something to look forward to. Also, it appears that you have a wavering mind. The grass is always greener on the other side, so there is no point of harbouring such thoughts.
