Observed on the third Saturday of June annually, World Martini Day is a celebration of James Bond’s favourite cocktail, which has scores of fans across the globe. Much like other classic cocktails, martini, made of gin and vermouth, has several variations to its credit. Mumbai-based mixologist and Diageo India brand ambassador, Mayur Marne shares, “Nowadays, majority of the bartenders choose traditional cocktails with a twist. These classic cocktails provide a good foundation and understanding for balancing any drink, as well as assisting us in knowing the ingredient ratios we need to utilise in cocktails.“

Tanqueray Breakfast Martini by Mayur Marne, Diageo India Brand Ambassador
Ingredients
Tanqueray London Dry Gin: 50 ml
Orange Marmalade: 1 tbsp
Lime Juice: 20 ml
To Garnish: Orange Zest
Method
Add all the ingredients to a shaker.
Shake with ice and double strain in a martini glass.
Garnish with orange zest.
Ketel Espresso by Vikram KU, Diageo India Brand Ambassador
Ingredients
Ketel One Vodka: 60ml
Sugar Syrup: 15ml
Espresso Coffee Shot: 30ml
Ice: 3-4 Cubes
To Garnish: Coffee Beans
Method
Add some ice to a jam jar or cocktail shaker and pour 60 ml of Ketel One vodka into it.
Add 15 ml of sugar syrup and 30 ml of espresso coffee shot.
Strain into a martini glass after a vigorous shake.
Use coffee beans as a garnish.
Baileys Flat White Martini by Asmani Subramanian, Diageo India Brand Ambassador
Ingredients
Baileys: 50 ml
Ketel One: 25 ml
Espresso (2 tsp instant coffee powder mixed with 20 ml warm water): 25ml
Sugar Syrup: 10 ml
Method
Shake all ingredients with good quality ice cubes.
Fine strain into chilled glass.
Garnish with 3 coffee beans.
