An industry expert shares easy tips on how to spruce up your home with the combination of periwinkle blue and violet that is Pantone’s colour of the year

Every year Pantone releases a colour, which invariably becomes the hottest trend around the world. This year’s pick—veri peri—is a combination of the dynamic periwinkle blue along with undertones of violet. The Pantone colour of the year has historically been prevalent in the arts industry, namely fashion, decor, et al.

With the beginning of a new year, changing up the aesthetics of our immediate space could be a welcome move considering we have been spending a lot of our time indoors. “Veri Peri was created with the intention of being a colour that is carefree and joyful, and we can all use that energy in our lives. A space that is vibrant and bright can immediately put us in the best mood,” says design entrepreneur and co-founder of Curio Casa Divyansh Sanklecha.
Below, he shares some easy tips for you to revamp your space by adding veri peri into your lives:
1) The easiest way to incorporate a hue in your home is by painting your walls. Paint one wall in your living in the veri peri hue and leave the remaining walls white. The coloured wall will add character and the white walls will bring in the illusion of open space.
2) Fabric flowers in veri peri hue can be an ever-lasting and easy-on-the-pocket option which can brighten up a space in a jiffy.
3) Candles and candle holders are ideal for the festive season and can lit up any space, literally.
4) Photo frames with hints of veri peri could be a good addition to neutral coloured walls.
5) Rugs can be a cosy way to add this colour into your space. Handwoven rugs look exquisite, and with a touch of veri peri, they would amplify your space.
6) You can incorporate this hue into your space with vases. Vases are an absolute must in any home, and also the easiest to change and replace. Add in a few vases in the beautiful hue, fill it up with your favourite flowers and create a little relaxing Pinterest corner for yourself.
7) Add some adorable curios that fit in perfectly with the theme and colour of the year. These curios can be styled perfectly by the TV unit, on your coffee table or even bedside table.
8) You can also add in an ottoman in the veri peri hue. Ottomans can go well in the living room, in the bedroom or even balcony, and they tend to bring the whole space together.
9) If you are someone that likes going all out, an L-shaped sofa in veri peri would be super chic. You could also use some veri peri-hued throws on your existing sofa to add some colour.
