It is time to ditch your plectrums and show off your fingerstyle guitar playing skills. Artists’ space Infinite Souls and Max Mueller Bhavan have organised All India FingerStyle Competition with an aim to look for guitar geniuses across the country.

“We have received entries from various regions of the country, be it Kohima or Dehradun. Our aim for organising this event was to give a platform for guitar enthusiasts to showcase their skills and also and offer international exposure, considering two of the judges are known international names in the industry,” shares Kirtana Kumar of Infinite Souls Artists’ Retreat, the organiser.
All one has to do is submit two five-minute YouTube videos displaying their skills. 7. Winners will be judged by Konarak Reddy, Peter Finger and Claus Boesser-Ferrari (both from Germany). These winners will stand a chance to win $1,500 worth Andrew White Guitar (Goddess Series), donated by Dream Guitars, North Carolina, and free participation to attend the Guitar Clinic facilitated by the World Guitar Nights musicians at Infinite Souls on August 24.

The winner will also get backstage passes to the World Guitar Nights concert. At the clinic, Finger will impart skills about creating your own orchestra with your guitar, Reddy will teach participants to infuse Indian elements to their music while Boesser-Ferrari will teach how to play with delays and EFX pedals. The winner will be flown in to the clinic in Bangalore.
