Pictionary is a game that's a popular draw at parties and picnics. And now, there's a chance to play it, and win big too. "The idea behind the event is to bring together people who share the same set of interests, so they can network and collaborate in the future", says Shalini Sharma, co-founder of Transfigurance, who is set to host Pictionary Sunday, a competitive event that will test your drawing and guessing skills.

The event will include several rounds related to TV shows, books, Bollywood, Hollywood and artistes. Participants can sign up individually or show up in a pair. To spice things up, the organisers have announced gift vouchers and merchandise for the winning teams. With the Tea Room's famous tea, coffee and hot chocolate to keep you going, this promises to be a fun-filled afternoon.

On: August 27, 12 pm to 4 pm

Get into Hindustani classical mode
Discover the rich tradition of Indian ragas at a new series of guided listening sessions

Keen to appreciate the nuances of classical ragas, but don't know where to begin? A new series of guided listening sessions by Tamasha Theatre and First Edition Arts will acquaint you with soulful Hindustani music. Called The Desert Island Series, each session will feature a music lover, who will share his/her favourite recordings and provide insights into the rich tradition with listeners.

The first session will be conducted by Siddhartha Chaudhari, assistant professor at IIT Bombay. He will play recordings of his favou-rite late morning and afternoon ragas. "The fact that the programme is being led by passionate rasikas rather than musicians or musicologists makes it different and fun. It allows the uninitiated audience an entry into the form without getting intimidated," says Sapan Saran, co-founder of Theatre Tamaasha.

The conductors for the subsequent sessions are Gouri Dange and Zarir Khariwala.

On: August 27, 11 am
At: Studio Tamaasha, Bungalow No 76, Aram Nagar 2, Andheri West
