Over the next 10 days, starting tomorrow, the Writers' Bloc will host a series of talks and workshops along with eight original plays. Each play is a result of a Writers' Bloc workshop conducted every four years, and developed under the guidance of the

Asad Husain of Bajrangi Bhaijaan fame will show his play Naqqaash where he explores contradictions in society. You can also catch writer-director Shardul Saraf’s Marathi satire, Janak; Rahul Rai’s coming-of-age story Outer Dilli; Nassim Soleiman-pour’s White Rabbit, Red Rabbit where he challenges the actors with an unrehearsed script. Writer Saggherr Loadhii will present his take on bisexuality in the Marathi play, Tutak while Swati Simha’s Flypaper Trap looks at genocide; and playwright Shivam Sharma whose characters battle a violent past in Given.


The plays will be staged in English, Hindi, Marathi and Tamil. All the seven plays will be staged over 10 days at Prithvi Theatre. Apart from plays, the seven-day event will also witness workshops exploring themes like the inner critic of the audience, finding support for an art project, lyrics writing and fictional writing for the web.
