Torana fort
Torana fort is one of the large forts located in Pune district. The fort is historically important as it was captured by Shivaji Maharaj at the age of 16 from where he started his journey to build up the Maratha Empire. The fort has two temples too. The fort has two major wings (machi) — the Zunzar machi and Budhala machi. On the Budhala machi there is a big vertical rock. When seen from a distance it looks like a thumb held up.
