With 25 performances to look forward to, theatre lovers can set aside 12 days this month for performances by stalwarts such as Naseeruddin Shah and 13 new theatre groups too.

Rambo Circus will make an appearance at the Prithvi Theatre Festival

Shah will be doing a solo act called Einstein by Gabriel Emmanuel. This will be followed by Om Katare’s new play, Heroine Banoogi Mein on Day Two. Another solo act that will tell the story of three women from different backgrounds will be Ekjute’s Roshni Kii Sadaa starring Nadira Zaheer Babbar.

Rakesh Bedi and Aanjjan Srivastav will share stage for a Ramesh Talwar play, Darindey, The Villains. The festival will include performances by 13 new theatre groups in addition to Fringe@Prithvi, a new initiative that gives a platform to theatre groups to perform works in progress and experimentation for small audiences. Musical acts include a Western Classical concert by the Symphony Orchestra of India, and an acoustic jam by Fazal Qureshi, Rupak Kulkarni and students of the Allarakha Institute of Music.

Two interesting acts to look forward to will be Prithvi Theatre’s theatrical presentation of Rambo Circus, complete with clowns and acrobats, and Neo Circus by Alliance Francaise — an acrobatic-centric, neo-circus performance set to music where performers will mix jugglery, diabolical humour, acrobatics paired with visuals.

Stage Talk@Prithvi will see Pragya Tiwari in conversation with Om Puri, Shernaz Patel, Kumud Mishra, Rohini Hattangadi and Paresh Rawal.
