Ravi also happens to be the founder-director of Amritanjali School of Bharatnatyam in the city. "Classical dance and music is a part of our rich culture and it is our duty to make sure that it is not lost by the western influence. Our tradition is deep-seated in devotion and helps in elevating one to higher spiritual levels", says the renowned danseuse.
Since the last two editions, the festival has been a great success and Ravi is determined to conduct the festival every year. She adds, "This time there will be Kathak and Kathakali performances that rarely happen in the city as well as taal wadan (rhythm-based performance) by a Mumbai-based group.
