Take three for Huma! Actress to start filming for third season of 'Maharani'

Huma Qureshi

Huma Qureshi is set to return to her throne for the third time! After her last release, Tarla, the actor confirms that she is set to film the third edition of SonyLIV’s Maharani, which originally released in 2021.

“I will start shooting for season three in a week, and we are set to shoot multiple seasons of the show,” she says of the series that marked her streaming debut in 2021. Subhash Kapoor’s political drama features Qureshi as a homemaker, whose life changes when her husband announces her as his successor for the post of Bihar’s chief minister.

Meanwhile, Qureshi has the human drama Pooja Meri Jaan in her kitty. It’s a far cry from her past projects, and also telling of the vast genres she has dabbled in. Ask her if there’s a genre she is still keen to explore and she says, “I would like to do an out-and-out comedy, like Andaz Apna Apna. I am waiting for someone to offer a comedy to me. I’d love to have a character like Crime Master Gogo as my partner in crime,” she signs off.
