Cast members Sumeet Vyas and Mita Vashist may be tight-lipped about the crux of their upcoming offering, Srijit Mukherji’s Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke, but they let us in on the fact that the project will celebrate women officers in the IPS (Indian Police Services).

Talking about the Zee5 show that challenges stereotypes, Vyas says, “There was a time when this career was considered male-dominated. But with the show bringing to screen the story of a very powerful woman IPS officer, I am sure that no woman in any field will be under-represented hereafter. It is a screen adaptation of a real-life event.”

Starring Regina Cassandra, as cop Kavya Iyer, the show was shot in the picturesque locations of Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Kerala and Meghalaya. It revolves around her missions to ensure the safety of citizens. Cast member Vashisht adds, “My character is that of a woman who is courageous and committed to her work, and is righteous in her personal life too. She gives you hope that you can rise to the occasion, no matter how bad the situation is.”
