The team behind the soulful music of ‘Modern Love Mumbai,’ Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani, Loy Mendonsa and Nikhil D’souza, caught up with mid-day.com for an exclusive chat where they opened up about their own love stories.

Speaking about memorable dates in Mumbai, Shankar said, “My romance started and led to marriage in Mumbai. I went around with my now wife, then girlfriend for 10 years. I’ve been married for 30 years, so Mumbai has been the beginning of the world of love for me. Every possible nook and corner of Mumbai, whether it’s Marine Drive or any chai ki tapri, an Udipi restaurant or 5-star coffee shop, Five gardens, Cuffe Parade and Priyadarshini park, we have explored it all.”

Nikhil D’souza who has sung ‘Mausam Hai Pyaar’ for the series reveals, “I’ve had many nice dates in this city but the  sweetest would be taking a walk along the promenade. The city has some beautiful promenades, just feeling the vibrancy of the city with people walking and running past, while your having a conversation. Time just seems to fly!”

Ehsaan says, “The Mumbai that Loy and I grew up in was very different. You could be sitting at Gateway of India at 2.30 in the morning getting a head massage and have a conversation with some random person. There are a lot of memories, all related to this city.”
