A day after the trailer of The Family Man 2 dropped, Telugu actor Samantha Akkineni, who makes her digital debut with Raj-DK’s show, is facing the heat. A section of netizens has demanded a ban on the show as it depicts Tamil Nadu in a “negative light.” Akkineni plays a terrorist, who talks about a “hostage situation” in Chennai. “Tamil people are not terrorists. We love peace, don’t project us as terrorists,” wrote a social media user. The Manoj Bajpayee-starrer drops next month.

Actors like Kangana Ranaut, Naga Chaitanya were all praises for Samantha's different avatar. "This girl has my heart @samantharuthprabhuoffl," wrote Kangana, sharing a snapshot of the trailer featuring Samantha.

The first season of Raj & DK's "The Family Man" was a hit upon release in 2019. Manoj Bajpayee plays Srikant Tiwari, an NIA agent struggling to balance his super-secretive job profile with his mundane middle-class life. The upcoming season also features Sharad Kelkar along with Priyamani, Sharib Hashmi, Darshan Kumaar, Sunny Hinduja, and Shreya Dhanwantary. The second season of the popular web series "The Family Man" will premiere on June 4. The trailer of the series released on social media on Wednesday.
