The thrill of being an actor is the opportunity to play characters that are polar opposite to you. Arjan Bajwa, who bagged a prominent role in Bestseller, agrees as he reveals he could not connect to the character of Tahir Wazir in the upcoming Amazon Prime Video series. “He is an alpha male. At times, he is vulnerable, romantic and sometimes childlike. There is a lot of contradiction in the character [I play]. I am not so complex in life,” says the actor, who believes in being straight-forward.

The psychological thriller is an adaptation of Ravi Subramanian’s book, The Bestseller She Wrote. Directed by Mukul Abhyankar, the series also stars Shruti Hassan, Gauahar Khan, Satyajeet Dubey and Mithun Chakraborty. “[Despite] being a superstar for decades, winning National Awards and [still] doing varied roles at this age, the kind of humility, enthusiasm, and professionalism he used to bring on the set was infectious; that is what we learned from him,” says Bajwa, adding that the Chakraborty is a “superstar”.
