The iconic show Wagle Ki Duniya: Nayi Peedhi, Naye Kissey has completed three years. In these three years, the show has doled out close to 900 episodes and over 650 stories and continues to remain fresh. Led by Sumeet Raghavan, the show also features Anjjan Srivastava and Bharti Achrekar, who are reprising their roles as Srinivas and Radhika Wagle. It also stars Pariva Paranati, Chinmayee Salvi, and Sheehan Kapahi, as part of the Wagle family.
In an interview, Sumeet Raghavan, who plays Rajesh Wagle, opens up about the show.

How far do you see Wagle Ki Duniya going?
Well, it all depends on the writers and the TRPs. Right now, we're happy that the audience is enjoying the show and the feedback has been positive. As long as this momentum continues, we keep delivering good stories, we'll keep moving forward.
What's the feeling when you see your show cross this new milestone?
It's truly a wonderful feeling, to be honest. We emerged from the pandemic in 2021 and began shooting for ‘Wagle Ki Duniya’. Now, as we enter our fourth year and approach 900 episodes, it feels like a significant achievement. In today's television landscape, especially considering the challenges of the pandemic, it's a remarkable feat. Additionally, the show's non-linear storytelling, with fresh episodes and stories brought in by our writers, adds to the success. It's been a great team effort, and we've crossed numerous milestones, not just in terms of numbers but also creatively.
How has the show affected your career and you personally?
Personally, none of my shows affect me. I maintain a clear distinction between my on-screen character Rajesh Wagle and my real-life persona, ‘Sumeet Raghavan’. However, in terms of career, being part of a successful show is indeed gratifying. My association with Sony SAB and Hats Off Productions has once again proven to be fruitful and fortunate. We are fortunate to have each other's support and collaboration.
What's your personal takeaway from this show?
My belief is that we are returning to our roots, emphasizing core Indian values once again. Family holds immense importance, including grandparents and their invaluable role. Neighbours also play a significant part in our lives. We tackle various issues in the show, and the positive response we receive validates our efforts. I'm delighted that the episodes are well-received, and viewers eagerly anticipate watching ‘Wagle Ki Duniya’.
Considering it has run longer than the original, does it in some way validate any belief you had previously?
I believe that if your heart is in the right place and there's clarity in your mind, there's no stopping you. The longevity of any project or art form depends on its genuineness, passion, and hunger. Unlike the original ‘Wagle Ki Duniya’, which didn't have as many episodes due to different circumstances, we now telecast six episodes a week, presenting both challenges and opportunities. While we must avoid repetition and monotony, the advantage lies in learning from our mistakes and improving in future episodes.
What's next for you?
As of now, I don't have anything lined up. My focus is currently on ‘Wagle Ki Duniya’.
