Pooja Banerjee, who rose to fame with her stint as a contestant of the reality show 'Roadies', revealed her Ganesh Chaturthi plans. Ever since the pandemic outbreak, festivals in India are not being celebrated with the same fervour as earlier, but yet, the enthusiasm and liveliness hasn't reduced. From being cautious about get-togethers and social gatherings, people have become vigilant about their every outing. Now, as Ganesh Chaturthi is just around the corner and will be celebrated worldwide on September 10, Pooja Banerjee shared some interesting anecdotes with mid-day.com.

Kumkum Bhagya actress Pooja Banerjee, who plays the character, Rhea, shared how festivities and celebrations have changed since last year. Mentioning her plans about Ganesh Chaturthi 2021, Pooja was quoted saying, "With the pandemic still looming large, this year’s Ganesh Chaturthi will be quite a different one from the usual. This year, I will not be stepping out for darshan, but I will surely perform pooja of Ganpati Bappa at home. I also love modaks, so I will make some at home and feast on them. In fact, while this year will be different in terms of celebrations, the fervour and excitement will remain the same."

Pooja further added, "Since my childhood, I have loved this festival and from getting the idol home till the time of Visarjan, I would dance my heart out every year. I also used to play the dhol while getting Bappa to our house in Nagpur. In Mumbai too, Ganesh Utsav has been a great way to enjoy a reunion with our buddies as all of us used to visit our friends' houses for celebrations. Sadly, we all will miss meeting our friends and celebrating the festival together this year, but I would like to wish everyone a Happy Ganesh Chaturthi and I pray to Lord Ganesha to take all the Vighna (obstacles) away from us this year."

'Kumkum Bhagya' has been an audience favourite with its intriguing plot and the authentic portrayal of relatable characters like Abhi (Shabbir Ahluwalia), Pragya (Sriti Jha), Rhea (Pooja Banerjee), Ranbir (Krishna Kaul) and Prachi (Mugdha Chapekar). Speaking about her professional life, Banerjee is married to Olympian swimmer, Sandeep Sejwal. He clinched a bronze medal in the 50m breaststroke at the 2014 Asian Games which were held in Incheon.
